This series was used in my kids Montessori School Program in pre-K years. The philosophy of the school was that the child's brain is at the peak of learning in their 5-9 year of age. By giving the child the tools and skills to read and comprehend, they are able to learn by reading everything in their environment. Before entering the public school system in Grade 1, my kids were reading at a 3rd and 4th grade level. 20 years later my kids are clearly so much more mature from their peers.
